EYP Architecture & Engineering
Firm Description
We’re a people-first, integrated design firm specializing in higher education, healthcare, government, and science & technology. From architecture, planning, and engineering to IT, HR, and finance, we begin every project by asking, “What’s Possible?”
Striving to create an environment of partnership and trust, we seek to meet your needs and go beyond what’s expected. We’ve built long-term relationships based on listening and bringing intuition and intellect to a creative process focused on uncovering the possible in your project.
Founded in 1972 in Albany, New York, we’ve steadily grown through new clients, strategic mergers, and acquisitions, expanding our expertise and geographic reach to serve clients better. Our integrated teams offer planning and design, high-performance engineering, environmental graphics, preservation and modernization, interiors and workplace, and rapid response projects to tackle your pressing challenges.
Today, EYP has interdisciplinary offices in 10 cities across the United States and projects in more than 100 countries. Our 400 employees are a community of designers, sharing diverse perspectives and life experiences.
From Albany to Atlanta, Dallas to LA, and beyond — each of our offices brings its unique flavor to EYP’s creative culture. But what remains consistent is our curiosity — about you, where you’re going, and what you imagine.
Research
As designers of the built environment, we are responsible for ensuring that our work evolves from a deep understanding of the technical, business, and human performance opportunities on each project. Research is part of our ethos. Our founders contributed to the development of Evidence-Based Design, elevating the role of research within architectural practice. We continue to push the boundaries of ways to leverage data and analysis to inform our work. Our Research Lab is committed to supporting EYP’s ability to gather, share, and publish valuable information to advance our own practice and the design and construction industry.
Legacy
The Tradewell Fellowship offers aspiring healthcare architects exceptional career-building opportunities. Named in honor of the late Gary Tradewell, a former Vice President and Medical Planner, it is the most established fellowship of its kind with over two decades of legacy and counting.
Fellows are immersed in the field and have the opportunity to continue their education with an individual healthcare architecture research topic of their choice.
