KELLY D MITCHELL, AIA
Licensed architect and founding partner of Mitchell Garman Architects, Kelly’s design foundation is high-end hospitality. After graduating with a Bachelor of Architecture degree from the University of Oklahoma, she gained experience with a variety of building types, ranging from hospitals to hotels to houses. In 1997 she chose to focus her talents on restaurant and hospitality design.
In 2006 she launched her own firm to notoriety and critical acclaim. Her celebrated designs of neighborhood restaurants have received accolades from D Magazine, Texas Monthly, Fort Worth Telegram, and New York Times, among others. Her visionary ideas and attention to detail at residential design have also been rewarded. The Labron Residence received awards from ED+C (Environmental Design + Construction) Excellence in Design and EcoHome Design Awards and has been featured in Design Bureau Magazine and Luxe Interiors + Design. Premiere residences were featured on the Dallas AIA Tour of Homes in 2007, 2009, 2013 and 2016.
Kelly also sits on various committees and boards of numerous local organizations, including the Dallas Chapter of AIA, the Texas Society of Architects, and the North Texas chapter of Docomomo. She strives to be a citizen architect of the community. Travelling is her number one passion, while playing tennis is a close second.
SEAN K GARMAN, AIA, LEED AP
Sean is a licensed architect and Partner of Mitchell Garman Architects. After earning both Bachelors of Architecture and Masters of Architecture degrees from Montana State University, Sean quickly moved to Texas in 1993. For over two decades he has worked across a broad range of project types including hospitality, higher education, science laboratory, healthcare, and custom residential; earning numerous accolades, certifications and awards by USGBC and AIA Dallas.
Sean’s work has appeared in a variety of publications such as Texas Magazine, Texas Construction, Texas Monthly, D Magazine, Fort Worth Telegram and Columns Magazine. Sean has presented at numerous local, state and national conventions as well as been guest juror and instructor at local universities. He also served on the Board of Directors for AIA Dallas [2013-2016] as well as the Texas Society of Architects [2015, 2016].
Sean’s curious mind feeds his passion for travel, fondness for food, and love of people. You may often find him “festivaling” around the globe, enjoying music and culture be it a music festival in Austin, a medieval festival in Portugal, or a chowdah festival in his home state of Rhode Island.
