Andrew Barnes

Biography
Andrew received his Masters of Architecture from Kansas State University in 2010. Andrew launched his own practice, Agent Architecture, in May of 2017.
Agent Architecture does not specialize in one project type, but embraces a wide range of work that engages the urban environment. Current work includes urban commercial and retail projects as well as single family residential. In addition to the work at his firm, Andrew teaches a design studio in the school of Architecture at UT Arlington. Andrew is the 2018 chair of the AIA Dallas Design Awards Committee. Andrew also writes for Texas Architect and the Architect’s Newspaper.
A passion for the urban environment forms the basis for Andrew’s work. In his projects and community involvement, he strives to make the City a more equitable, cohesive, positive, and human-centered place. Through a range of different project types, Andrew finds inspiration. Transparency in the design process, attention to detail, thoughtful use of materials, and providing elegant yet economically sensitive solutions, are essential ingredients in Andrew’s practice.
