When it comes to housing, FEAR will inevitably grip us all at the point that we face the realities of getting old and running out of money – at the same time! If it’s not us, it is our parents, our grandparents, our neighbors or our friends. Architects can’t do much to alleviate the problem, but to the extent we can do anything, we must.
PRESENTER: David Dillard, FAIA, is a principal at D2 Architecture, a firm that specializes in senior housing and has addressed the concern of affordable housing for the elderly for the past 25 years. He will be mining this topic and bringing not only his own personal experiences to bear but that of others who are attempting to make that difference … to quiet that fear.
