We will be joined by Susan Alvarez, PE, Assistant Director of the City of Dallas Office of Environmental Quality & Sustainability, to discuss the Comprehensive Environmental & Climate Action Plan (CECAP). CECAP is a complete roadmap that outlines specific activities that the City plans to undertake to improve quality of life for all residents, to reduce greenhouse gas emissions, to prepare for the impacts of climate change, and to create a healthier and more prosperous community. The plan proposes over 90 actions across eight sectors, towards achieving carbon neutrality by 2050. CECAP is scheduled to be considered by Council on May 27. Susan Alvarez, PE, CFM, Assistant Director of Dallas Environmental Quality and Sustainability Department

Susan Alvarez holds a Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering, with a minor in Geology from Rice University, and postgraduate work in Water Resources. She is a Registered Professional Engineer in Texas and five other western states, a Certified Floodplain Manager, and Master Naturalist in Texas. She is currently responsible for the development of the City’s Comprehensive Environmental and Climate Action Plan under the Paris Agreement, efforts towards Environmental Outreach and Engagement, Urban Agriculture, City Environmental Management Systems and the Urban Forest Master Plan
